Maintenance of mother tongue language is an important part of the IB curriculum as well as integral to ISHR’s language philosophy. Working with your child’s teacher, we can provide mother tongue support during the school day or after school through our mother tongue or LAP program.

Mother tongue maintenance and development is not only an important part of the IB curriculum, but also is an integral component of ISHR’s language philosophy. Research has shown that students who maintain and develop their mother tongue:
- overtake their monolingual peers in terms of cognitive development and academic results.
- become more proficient at the language of instruction.
- can expect higher salaries once they enter the workforce.
- acquire additional languages more easily.
