8 years
What year did you graduate?
2005
What are you up to now?
I am currently very busy with my family. I love spending time with my wife and our two wonderful kids. Also, I am about to become a Medical Consultant (Facharzt) in the field of general and family medicine. Within the next few months, I am looking to establish my own surgery (Praxis) and provide medical services to the community of Hanover.
What was your favorite subject at ISHR?
Music and biology
In what ways do you feel ISHR prepared you for what came next?
I believe that I was given all the tools to achieve my personal academic goals. I am not sure if I recall the curriculum in any great detail today, however, I have become very aware of the positive mindset that has been cultivated and instilled in me. I feel strongly, that a healthy and positive mindset is fundamental in good decision-making and helpful in building a content life. Both, academically and for oneself.
What was the biggest challenge you faced in adapting to life after ISHR?
Going to University, you face a new beginning. Adapting is essential. The comfort of ISHR, unfortunately, had to be left behind :)
What advice would you give to current students or your former self?
Life is not a race, no one is giving you good grades for finishing first. Be self aware and focus your energy on what matters most to you. Be humble.
What’s your favorite memory from your time at ISHR?
Honestly, I do not recall a single best memory. I have multiple fond memories of diverse school activities like team sports, project weeks and school trips and still remember a great time with true friends.
